The Painted Tree is opening for the first time in forty years. Kamid and Lilyth have three days to steal the most valuable object in the Groves, the Stoneseed, before the tree is resealed for another four decades.
The problem is, they aren't working together. They have, individually, promised two extremely dangerous men they will deliver. But only one can succeed.
Oh.
And did I mention they were once husband and wife?
Who will win and get the prize? The snarky husband? Or the grifting wife? And who will have to suffer the terrifying consequences of failure?
